Home Stainless Steel IBC Tote IBC SS Square Tank with Ss Angle Frame

A square stainless steel tank offers something a round tank cannot: efficient space utilization. When you need to pack maximum capacity into a limited footprint, a square cross-section makes every inch count.

This tank pairs a 304 or 316L stainless steel vessel with a welded stainless steel angle frame. Unlike standard IBCs that sit on a pallet base, the integrated frame provides structural rigidity, allows for custom mounting options, and eliminates the need for separate support structures.

We fabricate these units for applications where standard containers don't fit—tight production lines, custom processing equipment, or facilities with specific height or width constraints. The frame can be designed with lifting lugs, fork pockets, or mounting feet to match your handling equipment.

Each tank is welded in our Shijiazhuang facility by certified pressure vessel welders, pressure-tested before shipping, and documented with full material certifications.

Product Overview

Detailed Specifications

Integrated Frame Design

The stainless steel angle frame serves multiple purposes. It provides structural support for the tank, eliminates the need for a separate pallet or stand, and allows for direct integration with your existing equipment. The frame is welded directly to the tank, creating a single rigid unit that can be lifted, moved, and installed as one piece.

For facilities with overhead cranes, we add lifting lugs. For forklift transport, we incorporate fork pockets. For permanent installation, we provide mounting feet with bolt holes. Tell us how you need to move or secure the tank, and we design the frame accordingly.

Material and Fabrication

Both the tank and frame are fabricated from the same grade of stainless steel—304 for general industrial use, 316L for corrosive or high-purity applications. This ensures consistent corrosion resistance across the entire assembly and simplifies cleaning protocols.

All welds on the tank interior are full penetration and finished to match the specified surface smoothness. Frame welds are structurally sound and may be left exposed or finished to customer preference.

Construction and Material
The inner tank is rotationally molded from 100% virgin HDPE with carbon black pigment added during the manufacturing process. Unlike surface coatings or liners that can scratch or wear off, the black color is integral to the material—it will not fade, peel, or develop thin spots over time. This ensures consistent light-blocking performance throughout the container's service life.

The carbon black concentration meets industry standards for complete UV blockage, making these IBCs suitable for long-term outdoor storage of light-sensitive products. The material also meets FDA requirements for food contact applications when specified.

Light-Sensitive Applications
Black IBCs are commonly used for:
Edible oils: Olive oil, fish oil, and other unsaturated oils that oxidize and turn rancid when exposed to light
Flavors and fragrances: Many natural and synthetic flavor compounds degrade under UV exposure
Pharmaceutical intermediates: Certain APIs and intermediates require protection from light during storage and transport
Specialty chemicals: UV-sensitive monomers, photoinitiators, and other light-reactive compounds
Wine and spirits: Some producers use black IBCs for bulk transport of products sensitive to light strike

Valve Options
The standard bottom outlet is a 50mm polypropylene ball valve with EPDM seals. For applications requiring full light blockage throughout the dispensing system, optional configurations include:
Stainless steel valves with PTFE seals for chemical compatibility
Camlock fittings for light-proof hose connections
Butterfly valves for applications requiring complete disassembly for cleaning
Threaded outlets to match existing equipment

Applications

Food & Beverage
Juices, oils, sweeteners, dairy, wine/beer – food-grade HDPE, no flavor transfer.

Chemical
Detergents, water treatment chemicals, coolants – UN-rated options available.

Agriculture
Liquid fertilizers, herbicides – UV-stabilized for outdoor use.

Water Treatment
Sodium hypochlorite, alum, polymers – chemically compatible.

Industrial
Waste collection, cooling water – lightweight, durable.
Application of stainless steel ton barrels

Before you click download, here's the truth:

These aren't just PDFs we threw together overnight. They're the same spec sheets, material certs, and inspection reports we've been sending real customers for the past 15 years.

The 316L spec sheet? That's the one we send to pharma companies in Ireland who need to prove every weld. The UN cert sample? That's what got a chemical distributor in Houston through their DOT audit without a single finding.

Download them. Read them. Then imagine getting a fresh set with your name on every page.
