When floor space is tight, go vertical. A 500L vertical stainless steel tank takes up less than half the footprint of a horizontal tank with the same capacity, making it the obvious choice for facilities where square footage matters.

This tank is designed for gravity-fed systems, where the height creates natural pressure for flow. The vertical orientation also simplifies cleaning—solids settle at the bottom where the outlet is located, and the smooth cylindrical walls allow for effective CIP spray coverage.

Vertical Orientation

The vertical configuration maximizes storage capacity while minimizing floor space consumption. A 500L vertical tank occupies roughly 0.5 square meters—less than a standard pallet. This allows placement in tight areas where horizontal tanks won't fit.

The height also provides natural head pressure for gravity-fed systems. Depending on the outlet height, a vertical tank can generate sufficient flow without the need for a pump.

Bottom Configuration

Complete drainage is critical in many applications. We offer two bottom designs:

Sloped bottom: The tank bottom slopes 3 to 5 degrees toward the outlet. This design adds minimal height and is suitable for most liquids.

Conical bottom: A full cone directs product to a center outlet. This is the preferred choice for viscous products, slurries, or applications where solids may settle.

The outlet is positioned at the lowest point of the cone or slope, ensuring no product remains after draining.

Top Access

For applications requiring frequent access, we offer an open top with a hinged lid. This allows operators to add ingredients, insert mixing equipment, or visually inspect the tank interior without unbolting fittings.

For closed systems, we provide a manway (typically 300mm to 400mm diameter) with a gasketed cover. This maintains a sealed environment while allowing access when needed.

Fittings and Ports

Standard top fittings include:

Vent with filter: Prevents pressure buildup while keeping contaminants out

CIP spray ball connection: For automated cleaning systems

Instrument ports: For temperature sensors, pressure gauges, or level transmitters

Additional ports can be added at custom heights for specific process requirements.

Legs and Support

Stainless steel legs: Welded legs with adjustable feet for leveling on uneven floors. Leg height can be customized to achieve desired discharge height.

Skirt support: A continuous stainless steel skirt provides a clean appearance and is easier to clean around. Preferred in sanitary applications.

Load cells: Optional integration for weighing and inventory control.
